Ink blue stamping nail art (non konad stamping polish)

A simple grey blue stamping nail art. I really wanted to use blue on a grey background, so chose these colors. I really liked the grey finish, but took a while to dry, so I just used a rapid dry top coat to speed up the process, really helps for stamping nail art, helps to complete your mani quickly.

The fun part of this mani is finding a new non-konad stamping polish that stamps well as you can see in the above pic. I did a huge haul of this nail enamel, happy to know most of them or can I confidently say all of them stamp really really well. Lucky to find affordable polishes that can stamp well. I will soon update a swatch of all those polishes soon.

A word about the stamping plate from aliexpress very cheap but good, I will do a review of this too. Probably will do a combined review of both the polish and plate together.

Masking tape manicure

My initial plan for this nail art was to include red, blue and white stripes for the accent finger. I kept trying for perfect lines, and finally kept adding, removing, re-painting colors. Finally I decided to use these colors. I just used masking tape for the parallel lines. I used stay quirky nail hardener for the base, because my nail broke and had to file them, so just used the nail hardener before painting my nails.

I chose SQ shade# 260 a beautiful taupe color, love love love this color and the finish, its more beautiful than what is visible in this picture. I just painted my ring finger with green shade and used BP L003 to print the design on the middle and ringer finger using maybelline blackout. Then used masking tape to paint other colors on my ring finger, then finished only the ring finger with a top coat.

Valentines day water marble nail art - Originally created for stay quirky

This nail art for Stay Quirky Valentine's Day contest 2016 was my attempt at water marbeling using only SQ polishes, one of their rules,  I tried to create a heart design, but just ended up wasting polishes, so finally I decided to do this.  First I painted my nails using shade Unicorn, this helped the water marble colors pop. Then, I did my water marbling.  Hope you like it :-).

    Sparkly Monochrome - Dual stamping

This sparkly monochrome felt just right to celebrate the weekend :-). Another easy to do nail art.

    Products Used:
    • Top coat : Before stamping : Oriflame crystal base & topcoat : After stamping : Sally Hansen Mega Shine
    • Stay Quirky base-coat.
    •  New U Nail Enamel Glitterati,  Icy Cool 79
    • Maybelline color show - Blackout 220
    • Stamping plate -XY13 Nail Art Stamping Kit Decoration Jumbo Image Plate from eBay
    • Stamper - 4 cm marshmallow stamper from born pretty
To achieve this look apply your base-coat, let dry. Now apply your favorite white glitter polish, let dry. I always like to add a topcoat before I stamp, easy to take the design off without having to re-paint your nails.
Now for the first accent finger stamp your design just like you would normally do. Now for the next accent finger, we will use dual stamping technique.  For this stamp image on your 1st stamper and transfer this image on the 2nd stamper, now use the 2nd stamper to which you just transferred your design to stamp on your nails, this  helps to place the image in another direction just like in the above picture.

For easier understanding imagine you are going to stamp the letter L, when you stamp, your stamper will have the image in reverse, but when you stamp on your nails again, the image is reversed again thereby printing the "L" shape correctly.

In Dual stamping method your are transferring image from one stamper to another stamper and then on to your nails which leaves the image in the direction opposite to the original image.  Easy right, now finish with a top coat.

    See below image.

Nude and white stamping nail art

I applied base coat and after it dried completely, I painted all fingers in a nude color and then the ring finger in white. To match the base colors I chose Konad white and brown special polish. I used double stamping method by stamping the butterfly images in white and then after it dried I stamped the images in brown color on top of it.  For the other fingers I stamped only half of the image in brown. Applied gel effect top coat.

I stamped the butterfly image on the stamper, removed the image prints that I didn't require using a cello tape and only printed the butterfly images I had wanted, this also helped me stamp the butterfly images in the directions I wanted them stamped.

Red & Nude stamping nail art

A simple stamping nail art. Choose a nude base and a bright stamping polish and stamp away. Simple and the design stands out.

I found that the images in these plates do not have large images, so I kind of managed to cover my nails.

    Ombre/Gradient Nail art

Pronounced as "OM" "BRAY" :-) for a long time I was pronouncing as "OM" "BER" :-) :-).

OK, now this nail art is very simple take a sponge apply coats of nail polish on it choose more than one in different shades and dab away.  But I failed in the initial attempts with wrong sponge and polish. Some sponge  just absorbs the polish and does not give proper color out put, then the polish too if watery, does not work. so I ordered a nail art sponge made for this type of nail art from aliexpress and picked other polishes slightly thicker and then it worked for me.I tried to achieve a lotus flower shade but it turned out like this.

    • Stay Quirky Nail Polish Mauve-Ntain 175

    Watermarble nail art

Never be afraid to try water marbelling, I know its messy, lots of product wastage and its a trial and error to find the right polish that works, but when you succeed its a aha! moment :-). for months I was searching for polishes, it would drop like a glop and stay there, when i try to pick it up my hands were full of polish mess, lots of acetone to clean up and it was so irritating to try again, most polishes that seem to work were not easily available in India or the price was too high to waste on water. Stay quirky was just launched and I came across it in some blog that it actually water marbles and it was affordable. so I went a head and got a bunch of them :-). These polishes easily spread on water but I could not get them to the shape I wanted, I mean all those on you tube and other blogs were drawing with a toothpick just like pen on paper and here I was picking all the polish I just dropped and dragging them together and just dipped my fingers because I did not want to waste those several drops of polishes I just dropped from my brand new bottles and when I took them out those looked like Halloween nails. If I had painted them I would have used much lesser polish and it would last long. But why did I ever wanted to water marble, hmm but I was not the one to give up so I tried again and finally could master to the level you see in the picture. So yeah as I told you never be afraid to water marble and those were the only two attempts and now I am in to stamping nail art :-)

After several trial and error, googling for nail polishes that can be used for water marbelling finally, I found some in one of new Indian brand Stay Quirky, these polishes are so good for water marbelling. I used a plastic disposable cup with filtered room temperature water and a tooth pick to design.

    Striping tape nail art

If  you like geometric designs, or a good mani with crisp lines go for a striping tape you can create so many different shapes, and make them look absolutely stunning with some practice. What you see in this pic is my first attempt using a striping tape.

Apply your base coat, after your base coat dries completely apply your base color, let dry, now cut striping tapes to the length you desire for your nails place them diagonally opposite, press it down gently but firmly so that there is no gap beneath them, ensure the striping tapes are placed with equal distance from each other for uniformity, now apply another color of your choice on top of it, wait for few seconds and pull the tape gently away. now you have your striping tape mani, for the pointer finger I directly applied nail polish brush to create parallel lines.

Choose a polish that is a bit opaque in consistency so your lines look more clear and crisp, if you add too many coats it looks glumpy , mine here looks like a jelly color :-)
